Mexican Broadcaster Canal 11 Selects DNF Controls' 3040P-L for Reliable Playout of Commercial Playlists
September 28, 2005

DNF Controls today announced that Mexico City-based Canal 11, Latin America's oldest public television broadcaster, has purchased a 3040P-L Playlist Playout System to ensure reliable on-air commercial playout.

"The reliability of our broadcast control equipment is extremely important to us," said José Huante Ghagoyan, chief of Canal 11's VTR department. "We have great trust in DNF Controls equipment, and we selected the 3040P-L Playlist Playout System so that we can focus on our programming without any worry."

The 3040P-L Playlist Playout System is installed in Canal 11's transmission control room. It controls a Thomson M-Series video server and provides a quick and easy means to get commercial breaks to air fast under manual control. Operators can play out a single clip, a whole list of clips, or stop at the end of a commercial break, then play out the next or another commercial break in the list. The 3040P-L offers a simple, fast, and easy solution for manually playing out commercial breaks from a video server after an automation system failure, when there is no automation system, or when break times constantly change or happen at a moment's notice, such as during a televised sporting event.

Users can quickly and easily create lists on the fly or use the optional Playlist Transfer Tool to transfer a list created offline on a computer into the 3040P-L. Users can edit the list while it is playing out on the 3040P-L by appending, inserting, and deleting clips, or adding breaks. The playlist in the 3040P-L's non-volatile memory can be saved for later playout.
