DNF Controls today announced a new version of its Tally Interface Box that introduces additional features and enhanced functionality for processing, routing, distributing, and combining GPIs and tallies to meet the demands of television broadcasting and live productions. The new model also sports a new name - the GTP-32 GPI Tally Processor - to reflect its expanded capabilities.
The GTP-32 GPI Tally Processor provides an interface between dissimilar equipment, offers long- or short-distance GPI/GPO transport, acts as an alternative to running multiconductor cables, provides complex signal processing/conditioning, and provides GPI and tally routing. Simple to set up and use, the system can be configured with a Web browser-friendly configuration tool on any PC. It is part of DNF Controls' Ethernet-based Flex Control Network family of products.
The GTP-32 replaces traditional, handmade, custom black boxes for GPI and tally processing with an off-the-shelf product. Housed in a 1-RU rack-mount housing, it provides 32 two-wire optically isolated inputs and 32 two-wire contact closure outputs to ensure fast, safe connections.
With the GTP-32, users can easily transport GPIs and GPOs over an Ethernet connection - LAN, WAN, VPN, and Internet infrastructure - to distribute them within a facility, between buildings, across the city, or around the world. The GTP-32 provides an alternative to running multiconductor cables through crowded cable troughs, filled computer floors, or packed ceilings.
The GTP-32 allows GPIs and tallies to be shared among multiple areas, delegating them to a control room, studio, venue, or stage as needed. For example, in a shared studio facility, The GTP-32 can be used to delegate camera tallies between multiple control rooms.
