Spanish Broadcaster TVG Chooses DNF Controls' Fast-Access Clip Controller
February 28, 2007

DNF Controls today announced that TVG, a public television broadcaster in Galicia, Spain, has selected the company's 4040CL Fast Access Clip Controller to streamline its workflow capabilities. Installed by Broadcast Meditel S.A., one of Spain's most established dealers of broadcast equipment, the 4040CL system provides TVG with fast and easy access to single clips, fill-clip/key-clip, and multiple-clip combinations.

"Before purchasing the 4040CL, TVG had no way of loading video clip combinations, like fill and key clips," said Eduardo Galiano, general manager of Broadcast Meditel. "DNF Controls' solution makes clip access and cueing a snap, and it supports the Thomson Grass Valley protocol, making it the perfect choice for integration with the equipment already in use at TVG's broadcast facilities. The 4040CL provides easy and powerful control throughout the production process, greatly improving workflow in the studio."

DNF Controls' reliable and precise 4040CL Fast Access Clip Controller allows users at TVG to recall and play back video clips quickly by simply selecting the desired clip from the clip list and pressing "load." Users also have fast access to single clips and fill-clip/key-clip combinations programmed into 400 cue points, and can control up to six channels, individually or ganged. Names of video clips can be up to 32 characters long, so even non-technical staff can quickly find and recall them. The 4040CL also provides the ability to loop one or more clips, and create sub-clips.

"TVG is very pleased with the precision and reliability of the 4040CL," said Galiano. "Integration of the new DNF equipment has simplified the production crew's job by streamlining broadcast operations, and it has done this without the cost of additional interfacing equipment or upgrades. Ultimately, the viewers win, as the programming offers more variety and greater spontaneity."
